After working together on two Broken Bells LPs, James Mercer and Brian Burton (aka Danger Mouse) have just announced a collaboration of a different kind. The duo has customized a CD jukebox, which comes fully stocked with the Broken Bells discography and one hundred of the band’s favorite albums. The jukebox’s exterior is also customized to match the design scheme of their most recent LP, After The Disco.
Fans can enter the contest for the one-of-a-kind jukebox by purchasing the 7-inch single for After The Disco cut Control at a local record store on August 25 (a vinyl single that, alas, won’t be playable in that jukebox, but we’re quibbling). The 7-inch comes equipped with a special code which, when entered here, just might win you a jukebox.
The band has also dropped a digital version of the jukebox for public perusal, revealing their essential selections to include records from Rubber Soul to Purple Rain, Tears For Fears to the Platters, and Echo And The Bunnymen to Leonard Cohen.
Below, check out the fun, late night infommercial-style video advertising for the jukebox, as well as the band’s remaining North American fall tour dates.
