British quartet Wild Beasts has released a video for “Albatross,” the group’s recent dark, moody track. A simple half-electronic, half-acoustic drumbeat sits under lush piano swirls and leader singer Hayden Thorpe’s sharp, theatrical falsetto. The video, directed by recent music video prodigy Dave Ma, reflects the single’s somber atmosphere via gloomy lighting, emotionless actors and Black Swan-like dance sequences featuring a Katy Perry lookalike. Watch for yourself below.

The song is off of the upcoming album Smother, set to be released May 10 from Domino. The single was actually released as a free download back on March 9 from the band’s Facebook page. A 7″ of the single will be available exclusively through Record Store Day outlets April 16 and then through a single bundle on May 2, a week before the album’s release.
