In a new video for the website Nowness, Washed Out’s Ernest Greene talks about the inspiration behind his latest album, Paracosm (Sub Pop). Influenced by the natural world, the tropical-haze record is the result of Greene’s long months sitting by his studio’s window, watching the seasons change. Produced by Yours Truly and directed by Babak Khoshnoud, the cinematic video follows the young musician around the charming town of Carmel, CA, and ends with Greene and his band performing Paracosm‘s title track.
“My ‘paracosm’ is the pleasure of being by yourself or being with a loved one,” says Greene as the melodic song hits its final chords. “Just being able to get away.” Watch the clip and check out our Washed Out Fantasy for CMJ TV, below.
