After the jubilant, dance-filled aerobics class video for “A Tooth For An Eye,” maybe the the Knife thought it should scale things back a bit? Get a little more minimal? Whatever their motivation was, the Swedish provocateurs have released a new video for “A Cherry On Top,” one of the many long, slightly menacing tracks off their challenging new album, Shaking The Habitual.
Using a color scheme reminiscent of the album’s garish cover, animator Martin Falck provides some hallucinatory visuals: pink background, green grid, scary swirls. It’s somewhere between an eye examination and a magic eye poster. If you make it through the whole thing without blinking, you’re probably a robot. Check it out below.
