Just like how you’ll always want to have sex with the person who never calls you back, you’ll probably always be excited to hear music from those acts who have seemingly fallen off the sonic grid. The Avalanches are one such act. While we’ve been waiting for them to follow up 2000’s Since I Left You (ahem), the Australian electronic collective has been relatively silent on their plans for a new album, but today they’ve reignited the old spark with a new jam.
The track is a glitchy remix of a Hunters And Collectors song, Talking To A Stranger redubbed “Stalking To A Stranger (Planets Collide Remix),” from the forthcoming Hunters And Collector’s tribute album, Crucible – The Songs Of Hunters And Collectors. It’s joined by a video which is, aesthetically, kind of a remix of the original Hunters And Collectors video. The Avalanches’ website says “Stay tuned in the upcoming months for a special announcement.” Ooooh, wonder what it could be.
