Alt-rock pioneers the Pixies have just announced that they’ll be releasing their first LP since 1991’s Trompe Le Monde on April 19 via their own label, Pixiesmusic. It’s called Indie Cindy. If that’s not enough to get you excited, they’ve also revealed a video for the track Snakes, which appears on their recently released EP 2.
The video follows a group of papier-mâché-headed characters urgently packing their bags to run from menacing men wielding weapons made for beating their skulls. Set in the desert, the story pans out to have a not-so-happy ending which, although bizarre, adheres to the oppressive message portrayed by the song. The doom-filled atmosphere was captured beautifully by director Mark Locke. Check it out below.
