Let’s start with the world’s biggest understatement found in the warning at the beginning of this video: “This film contains flashing images.” In reality, M.I.A.’s new video for Y.A.L.A., from her new album, Matangi, is five minutes of neon glow-in-the-dark lighting madness. It contains morphing images, colorful explosions, flashing lights, laser games and the singer’s never-ending badass-ness. Daniel Sannwald directed the highly stimulating clip, and it was made in collaboration with the British magazine i-D and the fashion house Kenzo. Watch it below.
