Now that she’s one of the most prominent artists on the electro-pop scene thanks to the release of 2012’s Visions, Grimes released Go as a free download earlier this summer. The song, which she originally wrote for Rihanna, is one of her poppiest and most direct ever, featuring production work from Blood Diamonds. Today, Grimes and 4AD unveiled the video for the track, which is a cinematic, sci-fi mini-epic directed by Claire Boucher (Grimes herself) and her brother Mac. The video juxtaposes soaring desert landscape shots and medieval imagery with what Boucher says is her own futuristic interpretation of Dante’s Inferno. It’s quite a trip, and well worth the watch.
