We are all familiar with ?uestlove’s ability to perform brilliantly in just about any possible musical context thrown his way. However, his upcoming Philly-Paris Lockdown project manages to surprise us once again. The world-renowned Roots drummer is collaborating with international singer-songwriter Keren Ann and other special guests to create a concert experience that will infuse modern hip-hop with the classical works of colossal French composers of the early 20th century like Maurice Ravel and Claude Debussy.

The project will be included as a part of the Philadelphia International Festival Of The Arts (PIFA) on April 17 at 8 p.m. at the Kimmel Center For The Performing Arts. The festival began April 7 and will continue until May 1 as it aims to capture the artistic energy of Paris when it served as a haven for innovative artists between 1910 and 1920.
