Ever wondered how Blondie’s third album, the one so pervasive even non-fans know about it, Parallel Lines, got made? Thanks to the Smithsonian Channel, you can find out. The channel’s new documentary, Blondie’s New York, focuses on 1970s New York City, heading into the studio with Debbie Harry and the rest of the Blondie crew as they record their game-changing album with producer Mike Chapman. Not only that, but the doc also features commentary from Harry herself about writing music, the media’s focus on her appearance and lyrically inspirational ex-boyfriends. Blondie’s New York premieres on the Smithsonian Channel Friday, March 21 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
To celebrate, we’re giving away five copies each of the Blondie: Video Hits DVD and Blondie: Greatest Hits CD. Enter below to bulk up your Blondie brain cells.
