On Friday night, Irving Plaza turned the lights all the way down for San Diego art-rock act, Pinback. Against a backdrop of vintage footage streaming from a projector, the band played to a constantly chanting, cheering and song-requesting audience. Crowd favorites like Penelope were met with cell phones shooting up in the air and unabashed sing-a-longs. This tour follows the release of Pinback’s fifth studio album, 2012’s Information Received. Our photographer Emily Korn was there, soaking in the moody tunes and trying to create her own light source.
