Combining elements of rock ‘n’ roll, pop and punk infused with a science fiction theme, the Phenomenauts has succeeded in creating its own musical lane. So it makes complete sense that the Oakland, CA band teams up with circus punk rockers World/Inferno Friendship Society, a band that also does its own thing, for a fall tour. (Let the chaos and good times ensue.)
The two groups are set to hit the road on an eight-city west coast tour beginning in Seattle, WA and concluding in Tuscon, AZ. If you know anything about the bands, you will realize that you are in for a theatrical stage performance that would put some Broadway shows to shame.
While on tour, the Phenomenauts will also be selling its exclusive comic book and EP package. The 48-page comic book was written by Emmy Award winner Rich Fogel, known for his work on the show Pinky And The Brain (talk about a throwback) with images by artists including Claire Hummel and Nicholas Kole.
The 7-inch EP houses “I Am (Not) Robot” and “Particle Accelerator” on limited edition colored vinyl, so you can take your pick between yellow and black or ‘martian’ green. Each copy will also include a mp3 download code for the entire Electric Sheep digital EP.
