Folksy folks and indie festival-goers get ready: Texas-based indie band Okkervil River will be releasing a new LP, I Am Very Far on May 10 via Jagjaguwar, the band’s first release in three years. Okkervil River made the announcement last night on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon after playing a new song, “Wake and Be Fine.”

Their past two albums, 2007’s The Stage Names and 2008’s The Stand Ins were made up of the dozens of songs that frontman and songwriter, Will Sheff, had brought to the band while it was first getting its start. While taking time off from Okkervil River over this past year, Sheff has contributed to other musical projects such as the New Pornographers’ and Norah Jones’ recent albums, but now he’s back with a new batch of songs for his own band.

As of now, no shows or tour dates have been announced. However, with a new album and coming off a brief hiatus, the band is expected to announce impending live dates. Check out the video from last night below where the band joins forces with a few of members of Fallon house band the Roots, adding extra oomph to its performance.
