Indie rocker (or bedroom-pop crooner, or one man band—which ever you prefer) Oberhofer has signed with Glassnote. The label, renowned for its artist development and willingness to let artists flourish creatively (via examples like Mumford And Sons and the Temper Trap), inked the deal with the Oberhofer knowing that with its expertise and Oberhofer’s next-level musicianship, it would be a winning combination. The 20-year old Tacoma, WA native, who has been constructing beats in Brooklyn, is slated to release his debut album early next year.
In other Oberhofer news, the 2010 CMJ Music Marathon-featured artist also recently digitally released his new single “Gotta Go” via White Iris. The vinyl will not be released until October 4 but is available for pre-order as early as now.
And because what’s a new single without a slamming performance to showcase the artist, Oberhofer will be performing with Les Savy Fav September 6 at Music Hall Of Williamsburg. From past performances, we predict that this one is going to be a good’un.
