Ironically named all-female folk trio Mountain Man has announced the dates for its North American summer tour. The group will kick things off with two sets at the Winnipeg Folk Festival before spending the rest of July on a 16-city jaunt through the U.S., which includes three dates with Blind Pilot and wraps up at the Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island.

Mountain Man was started by three friends who met while attending Bennington College in small-town Vermont (two of its members are still in school). The trio creates sparse folk tunes, loosely rooted in the Appalachian tradition and seldom featuring more than a guitar and the three members’ voices. Made The Harbor, Mountain Man’s debut full-length, was recorded in an old-time ice cream parlor and released on Partisan last year.
