Marissa Nadler, the folk songstress whose tunes are reminiscent of a dreamy summer afternoon, has announced that she will release a new album June 14. Nadler calls the self-titled EP the “most honest, natural record I’ve ever written.” Her last two records, 2007’s Songs III: Bird On The Water and 2009’s Little Hells, were released on Kemado, but Marissa Nadler, the new album, will be released on Box Of Cedar, Nadler’s own label.

Amazingly, Nadler was able to fund the recording entirely through Kickstarter, the micro-fundraising website popular with many tech start-ups. Her fans pledged $17,000 in a few short months, well over the $11,000 goal Nadler had set for the project. You can download “Baby, I Will Leave You In the Morning,” the first single off of the new album, from Nadler’s Bandcamp, here.
