Maggie Bjorklund, the multi-talented Danish pedal steel guitarist/singer/composer is preparing to release her sophomore effort Shaken, and if her recently released single Missing At Sea is any indication, the album should be an ideal platform for Bjorklund to show off her capacity for producing haunting and multi-layered tracks that keep listeners interested even in the absence of any vocals. Bjorkland’s music, which is practically incapable of being boxed into any specific genre given its seamless blend of pop, punk, folk and psychedelic textures, is equally as morose as it is fresh and exciting, and already sounds like a more deeply matured departure from 2011’s Coming Home. Check out the Missing At Sea video, along with some Euro tour dates, below.
