Gothenburg, Sweden’s Little Dragon took over Terminal 5 this past weekend with two sold-out shows in a row. During Friday’s set, a shower of confetti and balloons rained down and around periodically during the best cuts from all four of their albums, with a wee lean towards their latest, Nabuma Rubberband (Republic).

The band are uniquely Swedish in the way they effortlessly soak up and squeeze out a shrewdly smart mash-pop—’90s R&B, ’80s New Wave, trip-hop and even some folk music, all with a general electro-bent. It’s often quite impressive what they cook up with only a four-piece live band. They are heading to back to tour in Europe a little bit, including playing the huge Glastonbury Festival in the U.K. before they hit the States again in August.
