Sharon Van Etten’s new album, Are We There, is set to drop real soon now, and from what we’ve heard so far it sounds like it’s gonna be great. Taking Chances is a soporific folk lullaby, Any Time The Sun Comes Up is a Lucinda Williams-esque country ballad, and now there’s the heart-tightening Your Love Is Killing Me, which, for my money, might be the strongest of the bunch. Here, Van Etten’s voice is almost crushingly beautiful, and lyrics like “Break my legs so I won’t walk to you/Cut my tongue so I can’t talk to you,” do little to ease the emotional pain. Listen below.
