Oakland’s lo-fi doo-wop trio Shannon And The Clams picked the perfect spring-has-srung day to release Mama, a shimmery mirage of a track complete with classic sun-bleached rhythms and Shannon Shaw’s masterful blues-drenched croon. While it may find a better home among basements and garages than in the minivans of migrating shoobies, Mama is a perfectly angsty, warm weather groover that will stick in your head like flip-flops to an ice cream-covered boardwalk. The track will be released April 29 as part of Suicide Squeeze’s split singles series, accompanied by Guantanamo Baywatch’s Love Kin. Check it out below.
