When you listen to his music, it’s hard to remember that Raury is just a 17-year-old kid, except when you consider that just two months ago he was writing songs about his senior prom. Over the past year, the Atlanta native has released a series of loosies, but he’s finally set to drop an EP, Indigo Child, at some point in the future.
Cigarette Song has more of a folky bent than his fizzier releases like the R&B-tinged Sunshine, with Raury assuming a slight Southern twang to accompany his wonderfully amateur croon and monotone interludes. He’s set to open for OutKast when they return to the ATL in September. For now, listen to Cigarette Song below.
