Kite Party

Philadelphia outfit Kite Party claim they’ve been slaying pop-punk since 1776. And you know what? I believe them. Their new single, Summery Days, from their forthcoming LP, Come On Wandering, is an exercise in appropriately aged garage-punk. The band straddles the line between responsibility-rock and angst, with the precision of someone who’s made the decision to step back from late nights full of cheap beer and cheesesteaks (Geno’s on 9th is the best) because that’s just what you have to do. But hey, they’re still cool, they just traded some of their nights of partying for nights of music documentaries and organizing their vinyl collections.

Come On Wandering arrives May 6 via Animal Style, but you can start appreciating the finer punk things by checking out Summery Dream below.
