Today Alex Zhang Hungtai’s Dirty Beaches released (via FACT) the track “Casino Lisboa” off of the group’s highly anticipated Drifters/Love Is The Devil LP. “Casino Lisboa” is the third track that Huntai has offered up before the May 21 release, and it might be the most striking song of the three.
Hungtai’s turning point of an album, Badlands, brought you without chaperon into a seductively erratic doo wop dance floor. As the title of “Casino Lisboa” suggests, we are about to pulled into yet another disarming fuzzed-out vision of Hungtai’s imagination. The song kicks off with a rumbling, Suicide-like beat then—just when you’re getting comfortable—the song transitions a bit of organized chaos filled with murmuring electronics, pianos and an ominous guitar. It’s a reminder that this is not our apparition but Hungtai’s. Listen to the new track below.
