DC-based Kid Congo And The Pink Monkey Birds will bring its retro garage rock to the east coast next month, before releasing its third album, Gorilla Rose (In The Red), this spring. The east cost tour, running in support of the limited edition box set Ten Greasy Pieces, will continue through the middle of February, featuring special guests on select dates.

Named after the artist and performer of the same name, Gorilla Rose was recorded at the Harveyville Project, a high school in Kansas, where the group made its 2009 album, Dracula Boots. As in the past, the new album explores a number of genres from ’60s psychedelic to rockabilly and punk.
