Joan Wasser, better known as Joan As Police Woman, has released a list of tour dates for everyone’s favorite season (i.e. spring). To coincide with this announcement, she has also unleashed “The Magic“, a track off her sort-of released (we’ll explain that more below) new album, The Deep Field. The single is a groove-heavy track that showcases her soft and nimble voice very well as she easily switches from a deeper expressive growl to higher pitched harmonies in the chorus. The muffled drum set and electric organ add a lot to the groove as well as give the song a nice retro feel.

Joan, whose stage name is a reference to a ’70s cop show, has played with icons like Lou Reed and Rufus Wainwright. The Deep Field, her fourth full length album, is available now as a digital download through her website as well as iTunes. The physical format, both CD and LP, will be available in the US on April 12.

All current tour dates are listed below, with a number of west coast dates to be announced in the near future.
