Following the recent release of their album Babel (Glassnote), Mumford And Sons have put out the video for their newest single, “Lover Of The Light.” The band collaborated with the British actor Idris Elba, aka Stringer Bell on The Wire, and scriptwriter Dan Cadan on the video, which you can watch below.

Making his directorial debut on “Lover Of The Light,” Elba plays the role of the video’s protagonist, with no appearance from Mumford And Sons, at the band’s request. The video captures the wooded scenery of the Pembrokeshire countryside in Wales as it follows Elba’s character’s conflict—possibly rooted in his memories of a dead spouse or maybe having to do solely with the fact that he’s blind. We’re not entirely sure, but it’s all very nicely shot and features some lovely footage of Elba’s costar, a deer.
In addition to the video, Mumford And Sons have announced a handful of East Coast tour dates for February 2013. Tickets for these go on sale Friday, November 9.
