HAIM, those three sisters from Southern California, have lived up to their hype ever since they released their album Days Are Gone last year. Performing in front of a sold out crowd, the three sisters brought the adrenaline as the crowd grooved to hits such as If I Could Change Your Mind, Falling and My Song 5 to name just a few. On their second of a two-night stand at The Fillmore, the sisters showed no slack with their live show flair featuring those coordinated hair flips, wacky jokes during breaks and overall amazing stage presence. Danielle Haim stood out as she is a beast on a guitar, showing she can play some pretty slick riffs to the crowds delight.
Portland’s Shy Girls, a soulful, R&B-inflected band with a pop twist, warmed up the crowd. Frontman Dan Vidmar hypnotized the Fillmore with his sexy, slow, electronic bass beats, groovy soprano sax solos and sultry keyboard jams while performing tunes off Shy Girls’ 2013 record Timeshare.
