Grouplove rolled into town last night for the first of two New York City shows (both at Terminal 5). This sold out show was a triple threat, with the inclusion of Alex Winston and MSMR, both of whom seemed right at home with the adoring fans. Winston brought her indie-infused pop act, bowling over fans who showed early to catch MSMR and their melodic and raspy musical machinations.
As MSMR took center stage, hands and hollering gave the room a presence of anticipation and excitement. Playing hits off their 2013 debut album, Secondhand Rapture, kept the roaring crowd alive and breaks filled with dancing and smiles from lead singer Lizzy Plapinger.
Grouplove topped the bill with an incredible and high-energy performance. The band has continued to grow its fan base and momentum over the years, so a feeling of warmth and love washed over the audience as the gang bellowed out hits from their 2013 album, Spreading Rumours. Be sure to catch them again tonight as the top off their New York City tour.
