The massive list of Grammy Nominees for 2012 is here and includes many on CMJ’s radar. We could be in for a repeat of last year’s awards when Arcade Fire beat out mainstream competitors for Album Of The Year (delighting some, confusing many). Bon Iver‘s Justin Vernon may be the people’s hero this year, as he’s up for a number of awards including Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best New Artist. Mumford And Sons will run against Vernon for Record and Song Of The Year awards. The Best Alt Music Album category is packed with our favorites: Death Cab For Cutie, My Morning Jacket, Foster The People, Radiohead and, once again, Bon Iver. We’ll see if Vernon or Mumford And Sons can beat out poptarts like Katy Perry and Bruno Mars for the top spot.
