Quite popular Glasgow widescreen rock outfit Glasvegas is going on a 10-date North American tour in support of its sophomore LP, EUPHORIC///HEARTBREAK\\\. The quartet is probably hoping lightning strikes twice, after its self-titled debut went platinum and earned a Mercury Prize nomination.

The band came onto the international scene in 2008 with its debut LP, which blended shoegaze-y textures with James Allan’s Scottish brogue and an absolute determination to go big (also known as Paul Hewson syndrome). At the same time, Glasvegas doesn’t sacrifice a sense of subtlety or emotion—nor does it try to throw its arms around the world as it considers social problems (two songs on the new album, subtitled “Homosexuality, Pt. 1” and “Homosexuality, Pt. 2,” are said to reflect Allan’s combative response to homophobia). The album is out now digitally, and a physical copy comes out May 17.
