This past Friday at the 17th Annual Friends ‘n’ Family pre-Grammys benefit party—hosted by AAM founders Mark Beaven and Andy Kipnes and a load of other industry bigwigs—saw everyone from Mark Foster to the cast of Disney’s Shake it Up to Skrillex roaming about the legendary Park Plaza Hotel. Attendees were treated to performances by up-and-coming as well as nominated acts including Betty Who, New Beat Fund, Hiatus Kaiyote, MKTO, and Iggy Azalea, who was joined on stage by T.I.. There were also DJ sets by Sultan and Ned, Le Youth, Starsmith, Future Cut, Redlight and the Jane Doze. According to press materials: “Friends ‘n’ Family this year partnered with the VH1 Save the Music foundation dedicated to restoring music programs in America’s public schools and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child’s complete education.” But for this evening, it was mostly all about a shiny, star-studded party!
