The varied sounds at the Knitting Factory on Saturday night ensured a constantly flowing crowd and lots of unexpected mingling. Obits brought in long-time fans of their propulsive scuzz. Prides took a left turn with their moody synths and handclaps. Kid Karate didn’t disappoint either: their sashaying riffs stood out long after their set ended. Islands picked from their recent LP, Ski Mask, and dove into some old favorites. Flashlights admitted they were tired, having played shows throughout the week, but the band still managed to make their guitars sound as crisp as ever.
