UK-based band, Elbow, has released a video for “Open Arms,” a song off the recently released album, Build A Rocket Boys! (Fiction/Polydor). “Open Arms” is being released as a ten-inch single in the coming weeks and will come along with the previously unreleased track, “Buffalo Ghosts” on the b-side. The video’s animation shows some blob office/dance party. It’s pretty uneventful, but it offers a simple, aesthetically pleasing backdrop to this power ballad. Check it out below.
Though the band hasn’t made a big break through yet in the United States, it has been receiving massive amounts of critical and popular acclaim on its homefront. 2008’s The Seldom Seen Kid went double platinum and was awarded the Mercury Prize, an honor given out to the best album of the year in the UK and Ireland. On the touring front, this summer will be all about music festivals for Elbow. Amongst others, it will be opening for Coldplay at the Glastonbuty Festival in June and playing Coachella this weekend.
