Sturdy roots rockers Deer Tick came to the Webster Hall stage on the heels of their latest album, Negativity (Partisan), which landed in stores in September. They played to a sold out venue packed full of their cheering and cheerfully dancing fanatics.
Such is the love from the Deer Tick faithful, that Robert Ellis’ great set was a total surprise, and greeted with glee from the Deer Tickers. And it didn’t hurt that Ellis was joined on stage by all the members of Deer Tick at various points throughout his set. Ellis brought a country-tinged, boho-rock presence to the evening. It was his birthday too, and he celebrated with some antics and banter with the audience between songs.
