**Dam-Funk announced additional tour dates following the May 17 publication of this post. Find the updated schedule below.**

He Of All Things Unabashedly Funk, Dam-Funk, is leaving his hometown of L.A. for a summer tour. The keytar-loving Damon Riddick sticks largely to the festival circuit, starting off the funktivities at Detroit Electronic Music Festival before hitting Connecticut’s B.O.M.B. Fest with homie Snoop Dogg. He then follows up with a New York performance taking place on a boat—a motherhuggin’ boat, you guys—with his band Master Blazter and ’80s funk legend and frontman of Slave, Steve “Watching You” Arrington. There is a slew of dates after that, including shows in Japan, Europe, Canada and the West Coast, but damn, Dam really had us at Rocks Off Concert Cruise.

Dam’s performance alongside Arrington wasn’t just a nice booking coincidence either, as the two have been ferreting away in the studio together, working on some new material. A full-length album should be out sometime this year, containing cuts like the silky, open-shirted “I Be Trippin'” below:

In addition to that, Dam seems to be keeping up on his own production, giving away unreleased tidbits to his fans via Twitter. Last week Stones Throw dropped the positive-vibed instrumental “Don’t Give Up,” available to stream below, and made it available for download on its website. Think of it as a precursor to a new Dam-Funk album, which is set to drop this fall:
