Neo-flower power indie stars Cut Copy dropped by the outside stage at Stubb’s BBQ in Austin, Texas last Saturday. Summer solstice, with its feeling of hopes and fun times, would seem to be the time of year that this band would revel in, and indeed it did bring out the loosest sides of the band, as they tended towards their most recent, la-la-iest material.
Classixx got things going with their electro-sheen pop. The dichotomy between the old school, wooden, fingers-slopped, meat-packing vibe of Stubb’s and these two bands’ now-times, love child synth stuff wasn’t as odd as you’d think, and perfect for starting off summertime partying.
