Cults, the Brooklyn minimal-pop group that’s received its share of attention this year, is releasing its debut album June 7 via Columbia. The duo of Brian Oblivion and Madeline Follin is also wrapping up a tour, which ends up at a little old festival called Coachella.

The relatively reclusive band just released “You Know What I Mean,” its first song from the self-titled debut. It’s a song that sounds less like the Supremes on each listen. Follin hits that vocal sweet spot between cute and despairing, the contrast between her soft voice and often heartbreaking lyrics becoming remarkable as the noise rises around her.
