Australian garage-punk duo Circle Pit is releasing a new single via Hardly Art. Previously on Siltbreeze (where the band’s first LP was released last year), Circle Pit also plans to release music via Sacred Bones and Sweet Rot.
The single, a double A-side of “Slave” and “Honey,” is a definite departure from the thumping lo-fi rock of Angela Bermuda and Jack Mannix’s debut. With shoegaze synths, slow chanting harmonies and a nearly doo-wop core, “Slave” also features a loopy spoken-word interlude, while “Honey” includes horns, organ and the same chanting vocals.
