Beloved alt-rock vets, the Breeders, stopped in to the Big Apple again, this time for the first of a two-night stand at Webster Hall. The band doled out their biggest hit, Cannonball, by the second tune, and the packed hall of the adoring faithful only got more fervent from there. This band has lost little of their Midwest crunch-pop appeal over the years.
Speedy Ortiz have taken their noticable Breeders love past the fandom stage to becoming one of the brighter lights of the ’90s-redux scene, and the crowd ate up their set in kind. If you missed it all, it’s happening again tonight.
