For the 12th year straight, the Bonnaroo Music Festival will hit Tennessee this summer from June 13-16. The headliners for this year’s fest include Paul McCartney, Mumford And Sons, and Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers. Other noticeable artists include R. Kelly, the Wu-Tang Clan, Grizzly Bear, Pretty Lights, Kendrick Lamar, Matt And Kim, Passion Pit, the xx, Nas, A$ap Rocky, Bjork, Local Natives and the National. Tickets for the festival will go on sale February 23 at 12 p.m. EST through the festival’s website.
As you can tell from the lineup, Bonnaroo’s focus, which was originally around rock and jam bands, has evolved throughout the years. The fest now features a wider range of artists, including some of the biggest names in hip-hop, EDM and ex-Beatle-dom. With the higher level of acts comes an intense level of media attention and a bigger focus on presentation. Case in point: This year the fest’s lineup was revealed via a live YouTube stream hosted by Weird Al and a presentation by comedian Daniel Tosh. You can view both below.
