Afghan Whigs - Do the Beast
Nineties alt-rock stars Afghan Whigs haven’t given us any new music in 16 years. However, with the announcement of their new album, Do the Beast (April 14 via Sub Pop), a 2014 tour and a badass, old west video, I guess we can let them slide on this one. The new Southwest-inspired single, Algiers, is a raw, whiskey-fueled march down a desert road, complete with spaghetti-western guitars and references to demons outside the window. The video for the track pays homage to High Plains Drifter and doesn’t skimp on any of the requiste bloodshed or dry heat. Who doesn’t love a good revenge story? Check out the new video, tracklist and those tour dates below. And welcome back, boys.
