After releasing details of the three Riot Fests happening in September, today the organizers have announced that a number of the vintage acts playing the Chicago and Denver Fests are going to do that “whole album all the way through” thing. While we thought that move jumped the shark when Cheap Trick did Sgt. Pepper’s in Vegas in 2009, these kind of events still garner gasps from those who weren’t there the first time around. (Props: Cheap Trick started this whole trend with a four-night stand in the spring of 1998.)

Here’s the list of bands and the albums they’ll be doing, below. Might we suggest Naked Raygun?

Jane’s Addiction – Nothing’s Shocking (Chicago)
The Offspring – Smash (Chicago)
Weezer – The Blue Album (Chicago and Denver)
Slayer – Reign In Blood (Chicago and Denver)
Samhain – Initium (Chicago)
NOFX – Punk In Drublic (Chicago and Denver)
Descendents – Milo Goes To College (Chicago)
Naked Raygun – Throb Throb (Chicago)
Get Up Kids – Something To Write Home About (Chicago)

Riot Fest 2014 happens in Toronto, Chicago and Denver in September.
