If a 3pc. band can sound as rockin' as The Stones and as heady as Sonic Youth, that band must be Alta May. Their new cd "Dark Days" is pure Seattle flavor. Jack Endino even produced/recorded 4 tracks. The sound is chunky, melodic, and feedback laden. These guys are obviously talented, seasoned musicians. Hell, the final cut, "All Lie Down" sounds a bit like a 2003 take on The Who's "5:15" compelete with a sax arrangement. Check 'em out at altamay.com
