I just got it a couple weeks ago. I couldn't find it under $18 bucks anywhere and I searched for a couple months. I finally gave in and spent the whopping $18. I've had 'I wanna be adored', 'waterfall', and 'Fool's Gold' downloaded for a couple of years though. I definitely should of had the album along time ago though. IP: Logged |

About damn time we talk about The Stone Roses again (even though I was only three when the debut came out )I mean, I picked up the S/T about over a year ago and found it to be amazing. I just sad that most people my age wouldn't give a damn about them nowadays... IP: Logged |

a timeless record. good to see some new peeps checking it out!for those that have heard it, what's your favorite track on the album? "This Is The One" is my fav (quite possibly one of my favorite songs ever). -Dalen IP: Logged |

"Fools Gold" mainly due to it being a much earlier entry point than the rest of the album. I was actually surprised how Britpoppy the record as a whole actually was.IP: Logged |

"I wanna be adored" has been my #1 most played song on itunes and ipod since I've had either one. But I really like several songs on the album quite abit. IP: Logged |

Sketch, Fool's Gold wasn't originally on the debut album. It came out as a single I think a year and a half later but it became a big club hit so Silvertone added it on later prinitings of the album. My favorite song on the album is definitely "Bye Bye Badman." I love that song. IP: Logged |

I dunno. It's gotta be either "I Wanna Be Adored" or "I Am The Resurrection", but "Made of Stone" isn't too far behind.IP: Logged |

I'm with FnB, in fact just listened to Close Lobsters' "Foxheads" and "What Is There to Smile About" EP just this morning. If you like babnds of the era and loads of echo you'll love the Lobsters. One of the most criminally overlooked bands of the era. "Pick of the class of the NME's C86, the Lobsters were an altogether different proposition from the rest. They were not twee. Nor were they one of those jangly indie bands whose main purpose in life was to sound like a pale imitation of The Byrds. More for them was the guitar tumble of the Flamin' Groovies, honed down into three minute bursts of off-kilter pop songs whose closest relations are the old gems of the Only Ones. The guitars howl/bite as they should and the vocals yelp their acerbic imprint on spangling melodies, which rush at you head-long with a verve not seen since early Scottish Eighties outings. Situated quite splendidly somewhere between trash, thrash, pop and jangle." http://www.firerecords.com/closelobsters.htm IP: Logged |

agreed that they're overlooked, but not even in the same ballpark as the stone roses. sorry. IP: Logged |

Well, I'd even agree, although I will admit letting the rest of the world adore the Stone Roses (a great singles band) during their heyday while I overappreciated my fave underacheivers of the era... What with FnB dropping The Close Lobsters' name I felt compelled to throw my weight behind CL. I'll forever champion great music from the not-so-well-known, and this is a great place to do it.
