So this is supposed to be rating, not listing? How does my song #872 compare to someone else's 901? I mean, if I would have posted this yesterday, I would have put the same song up around 900 and thought nothing of it. Now, when/if we get down to the top 20- it will all come down to who its lucky enough to be here when they can throw a song at #15- while 99% of other CMJers might not agree. I think calling it a listing, in no order, of the 1000 is more representative of what we are doing. (ok shutup, I know)

BUT- wouldnt it be cool if after this list we compiled the CDs of these in mp3 format? Hey we could tie it into EVs idea about Cd of the month- '1000 songs you need to have IF you really really want to call yourself Indie really really bad' ok- Im done.
