Urgh.

So does this mean "Negative Creep" is #1 and "Rock and Roll" gets bumped? Or am I being annoyingly pedantic by even raising the question?

I think, just to keep things simple that:

Nirvana - Negative Creep [Bleach] 1989

should be inserted at #98

any objections?

I agree, this has been a very, very long thread. I am so proud to have been a part of it!

Hey,
If anyone wants to join my audiogalaxy group, it is called "Life in Chicago"
or look for timmyjoe42.

So far I have 945 of the top 1000 songs catalogued!

So we can swap songs that we don't have!!

Hey timmyjoe, make sure that the version of Text's "Sound Is Compressed; Words Rebel And Hiss" that you have is the full 11 minute album version, not 3-and-change radio edit.

Good point, shmoo, (not that I know that song yet!).

Make sure the Orb's "Ever Growing ...." is the 18+minute version, not some odd edit or Peel Session version.

I'm trying to make sure they are all the complete songs, and the full versions, I'll make sure I don't have the radio edits of those last 2!

And if anyone wants to be added to the list, I'll do it in the morning from the office, where the files are!

Ok, I am doing it I want to see this list go backwards now, like the TOP 1000 indie songs in the alternate universe, like superman's evil twin, only these songs dont have to be evil, just different and still the list will be the TOP 1000, thats the gimmick, see?!!

OK, (I think we are off a few numbers but I am not anal like that, I will just pick up at

942 : PolePosition - "Time Travelz"

(Come on timmy dont; let me down, post the next one...)

If anyone cares, My compilation of 991 of the top 1000 songs is being shared on SongSpy.

You should be able to search by the name and number, and I'll come up.

is it safe to say that all punk rockers will eventually turn to indie and discover how much they like it?
i am living proof of this theory. first just the pixies, commander venus, husker du, sonic youth, and so on. i'd like to learn more about all this crap. and who the hell are the apples in stereo?

Holy mother of all that is good!

This makes Angry Goth's thread look tiny!

Oh, and yes we decided on all the top 1000.
Maybe we should do a top 1000 from 2002!...

Any takers?

On 1/29/02 I made my first post on this board in this thread. It simply read:

quote:
184. Sonic Youth - "Star Power"

No introductions, I just butted right in.
So I guess this thread is dear to me.
