It’s a bittersweet week for TV On The Radio. It secures a No. 1 spot on both Radio 200 and Triple A, but such a feat is cold comfort in the midst of the the band’s tragic loss. The Kills takes the runner-up spot as the Strokes gets pushed down to No. 3.
In a lighter mood, folksy musicians are having a great week. Tune-Yards, the whimsical solo project of one ukulele player Merrill Garbus, enters the chart at an impressive No. 18, and Seattle’s Fleet Foxes was Most Added, beating out the No. 2 most add band, Austin shoegaze outfit Explosions In The Sky by 65 reports.
NOLA funk/jazz and all around party down group Rebirth Brass Band moves the festivities off the street and boogies onto the top of the Jazz chart this week. The rest of the genre charts hold tight with Obscura, Zion I And The Grouch, Bibio and Femi Kuti topping Loud Rock, Hip-Hop, RPM and New World, respectively.
