It seems like you can mash Wu-Tang with anything. Last year, it was the Beatles. This year—Fugazi? Yes, Doomtree is releasing a Wu-Tang and Fugazi cross under the name Wugazi. The project titled, 13 Chambers, won’t be released until July 13, but one of the tracks has just been leaked.

Sleep Rules Everything Around Me by WUGAZI

“Sleep Rules Everything Around Me” samples Fugazi’s ”I’m So Tired” and Wu-Tang’s “C.R.E.A.M.” Verses are added over top of the originally piano-driven tune, which is treated to a thickened beat. The Wu’s lines replace Fugazi’s with talk about being in the game for 22 years and going to jail at age 15 for selling drugs. But the song preserves the original chorus of “I’m so tired sheep are counting me/No more struggle, no more energy,” adding to the world-weariness of Wu-Tang’s own lines like “But as the world turned I learned life is hell/Living in the world no different from a cell.”
