The frustrating thing about most awards shows is that you don’t get to vote. It can be maddening to watch nominations and awards decided each year by a panel of pampered celebrities and faceless, nameless conglomerates. But that’s not the case for every awards show. This year’s mtvU Woodie Awards will honor the best student run college radio station in the nation, and you, the faithful radio listener, get to vote for your favorite.

A couple of weeks ago, CMJ reported that voting had begun for the category. The deadline has now passed, and after what we’re sure was an intense battle royale, 25 college radio stations remain. The top 25 voting period ends on February 27 at 12 p.m. EST. After that deadline passes, the list will be whittled down to 10 the following day. For now, you can vote to keep your station alive by clicking here.

You can vote for the other categories by visiting the Woodie website. MTV and mtvU will be broadcasting the show on Sunday, March 18 at 8/7 central. Check out some of the artists vying for awards, including tUnE-yArDs, who is nominated for a Breaking Woodie.
