Yesterday, New York-Berlin bass music duo Sepalcure released “Pencil Pimp,” the first single from its upcoming self-titled debut LP. Today, the pair, consisting of producers Praveen Sharma (aka Braille) and Travis Stewart (aka Machinedrum) released the accompanying video for “Pencil Pimp,” in which a guy and two girls get emotional at what looks like a summer camp. It’s awesome.
The single acts as our first taste of the full-length, out November 22 on Hotflush. The release comes hot on the heels of two acclaimed EPs released early this year, Fleur and Love Pressure Remixed. In a gesture of generosity, the non-album b-side to “Pencil Pimp,” “I’m Alright,” is available to download here, and you can listen to it below (it comes in at 1:32).
Sepalcure will perform tomorrow night (11/10) at New York’s Le Poisson Rouge, bringing its brand-new show complete with live audio visuals to the States for the first time. Fans on the west coast will be hyped to hear that the duo is playing in Portland on New Year’s Eve, and will have to settle for now on an additional Sepalcure track that features on the November CMJ Mixtape.
